Resizing Rows and Columns in Microsoft Excel

There are many ways of resizing rows in Microsoft Excel, we run through just a few of the easiest in this quick tutorial.

To resize a row simply drag the rows bottom border down to make the row as high as you like. Alternatively you can double click on the bottom border, this will resize the height of the row so that it includes all of the data in that row.

To resize a column you can either drag the right-hand border to make the column as wide as you want or you can double click on the right-hand border to let Excel automatically resize your column to fit in all of the data.

Sorting data in Microsoft Excel is simple. There are several ways of sorting data so we’ve put together this short tutorial to help you.

To sort one column in ascending/descending order. Highlight the column you’d like to sort by and press the ascending or descending button from the data menu (see the picture below).

The other option is to sort data by several rows for example, date then customer’s first name. To sort your data in this way you should highlight the data you wish to sort and press the sort button this then lets you choose your sorting preferences (see the picture below).
