Top 5 Microsoft Outlook Tips

Posted by Mohammed on Saturday, January 24th, 2009

outlookMicrosoft Outlook is undoubtedly one of the most used applications in the business environment yet many of us use less than half of its full capabilities. At Axon we have compiled a list of functions and tips that we thought people mind find useful.

  • Send Emails To Multiple Recipients Without Revealing The Other Recipients Identities – To do this you should use the Bcc line in a message.
  • Quick Dial A Contact – To do this all you need to do is right click on a contact and select call. This is particularly useful if you use a voip client like Skype.
  • Remind Meeting Attendees Of An Upcoming Meeting – Open the original meeting request, select the actions menu and click new message to attendees.
  • Reminder To Respond To A Message – All you need to do is right click on the message and click on ‘follow up’ and finally select add reminder. You will of course be asked to set a time and date for the reminder.
  • Switch To Displaying By Month Quickly – Press ALT + EQUAL SIGN

Hope these help.

Windows Live Messenger

Posted by John on Saturday, December 13th, 2008

Next month Microsoft is combining all of the differently named versions of its messenger service into one called Windows Live Messenger. Since its release in 1999 Windows Live Messenger has also been known as MSN Messenger, Windows Messenger and Live Messenger.

Windows Live Messenger is the most popular instant messaging service in the world (apart from AOL Instant Messenger in the US). The application originally allowed people to send messages to each other over the internet, however it has now evolved to let people share videos, share folders, play games and call landline/mobile phone numbers (through Windows Live Call).

If you’d like a look at the new version the beta (previously known as MSN beta) is available for download here, you can also read more about Windows Live Messenger on the Inside Windows Live Messenger blog.
