What are the benefits of VoIP vs. a traditional telephone system?
VoIP, or IPT, offers both cost savings and increased flexibility in comparison to a traditional telephone system.
A traditional system uses analogue (PSTN) or digital (ISDN) lines which work together with on-premise hardware and are connected by a series of telephone handsets.
A VoIP solution on the other hand, has no on-premise hardware – meaning less initial expenditure – and all calls are routed through an internet (ADSL) connection. This can mean lower call charges, and free internal and site-to-site calls within the business.
If you want to make multiple phone calls through a traditional system, extra PSTN lines need to be purchased. This can significantly increase monthly line rental charges.
With VoIP however, multiple calls can be made down the same ADSL line, with no need to acquire additional lines, making it a more cost effective solution for your business.
VoIP also offers increased flexibility. As all calls are routed via the internet, employees can make and receive calls on their main business telephone number, wherever they can connect to the internet. This makes remote working more effective and also ensures seamless continuation of voice communication in the event of a disaster which renders a company’s main place of business or telephone lines unusable.
Let VoIP take your business communications to the next level.
