What is VoIP?
VoIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol, also known as IP Telephony (IPT), is a process which allows you to place the telephone calls you would normally make on a phone line, over the internet using broadband technology.
It offers a flexible and reliable alternative to a traditional telephone system, and can significantly lower telephony charges by reducing the amount of equipment and lines needed to run your business.
Calls coming into a VoIP network can be automatically routed, irrespective of where they are connected to the network. This means that by taking a laptop and soft phone with them on a business trip or to a home address, employees can make and receive calls on their main business line, wherever they can connect to the internet.
VoIP can also be used as part of an IT disaster recovery plan, ensuring seamless continuation of voice communication in the event of a disaster which renders a company’s main place of business or telephone lines unusable.
With VoIP, you can take your business wherever it needs to go.
